Centennial Coal welcomes confirmation from the NSW EPA that conditions of the Clean-Up Notice have now been fully completed to their satisfaction and as a consequence the clean-up operation of the Wollangambe River is complete.

As a result of an environmental incident at Clarence Colliery on 2^nd July 2015 both the EPA and the Office of Environment and Heritage (OEH) commenced prosecution proceedings in the Land and Environment Court yesterday against Clarence Colliery Pty Ltd (Clarence), a subsidiary of Centennial Coal.  OEH's legal branch is acting for the EPA and OEH in the proceedings.

In March the Department of Planning and Environment filed a Summons in the Land and Environment Court claiming Charbon Coal Pty Limited, a subsidiary of Centennial Coal, did not comply with a condition to which an approval was given.

Following the environmental incident at Clarence Colliery on 2 July 2015, the clean up of the Wollangambe River (Wollangambe) continues.

 A number of clean-up methods, based on scientific advice, continue to be employed to remove any coal fines from the Wollangambe with the objective of causing no further damage to the environment.
