Established in 1989 and listed on the Australian Stock Exchange in 1994, Centennial is a coal mining and marketing company supplying thermal and coking coal to the domestic and export markets. The Company is a major fuel supplier to the New South Wales energy industry, fuelling approximately 47% of the State’s coal-fired electricity.

Centennial sells approximately a third of its coal into the export market. Coal is exported through ports at Newcastle and Port Kembla in NSW. Customers include power stations and steel mills in Japan, Korea, India, Europe and South America.

We are securing our future through development projects, organic growth at existing operations, focused portfolio management - including acquisitions, divestment and focused exploration.

Through this growth strategy we have grown to a market capitalisation of approximately $1.0 billion and we are currently ranked within the top 150 companies in the S&P / ASX 200 Index with almost 15,000 Shareholders and 2,000 employees. 

Centennial is the largest independent coal company in Australia in terms of production and has 12 operating coal mines in NSW, making it one of the largest underground coal producers in NSW.
