There has been mining at Newstan for over 130 years.
In care and maintenance since 2014, Newstan is a significant coal resource adjacent to Eraring Power Station.
Centennial has submitted a comprehensive Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) with the Department of Planning, Industry and Environment (DPIE) proposing to restart underground mining at Newstan.
For more information on this project visit the New South Wales Government planning portal.
Also located at Newstan is the Northern Coal Services facility, where coal for the export market is stockpiled, processed and loaded by rail to the Port of Newcastle.
